I meet with every one of my clients in advance of the wedding. I like to invite people over to the calm and quiet of my studio, have a cup of tea and run through the whole day. It gives us a chance to get to know each other a little before the Big Day. I can answer any questions or concerns that you might have. One thing I definitely like to do at this point is get a list of all the VIPs expected on the day. The last thing you want on the day of your wedding is to be worrying about who should be where in which photograph. A lot of people these days prefer the journalistic style of photography. Relaxed and natural. I'm 100% in agreement with this, but I know from experience that you will want that photograph of yourselfwith Granny, and that cousin from Australia!
Before the wedding, I like to visit the ceremony and reception venues and familiarise myself with the settings. This enables me to get a feel for the locations and for how the light plays in the spaces at the relevant time of day.
I'll get down to the church or ceremony venue 30 mins ahead of the bride. Take some shots of the Groom, Groomsmen and Guests as they take their seats. I'll take all the key shots before, during and after your Ceremony. I might get a group shot here afterwards, if circumstances and location allow.
After the ceremony we will move on to the venue. This is show-time for the Bridal Party! This photo-session can take anywhere from 30 mins to an hour, depending on the couple. Some Brides (and Grooms!) are delighted to pose for even longer, while others will be understandably keen to join the party. My goal here is to be as helpful as I can and make the experience as fun as possible.
